The big bang theory

Burning vine escalating veins,

Swelling shivers on satin stains,

Swooning nerves in bursting bloom,

Weeping skin within tendering ‘spoons’.

Tingling thirsts die consuming sweats,

Silvering suns, in mirroring sets,

Sipping flames in teething cuts,

weaving love from thieving lusts.

Sweetly ripened in fruiting harrow,

Silent screams lie dead tomorrow.

Split in seconds, passions parade,

An existence found, the moment astray.

The big bang theory, the act of creation, is a poem about the same at an individual level (what takes place between two people) and on a larger scale, as a method of evolution. In short, think of creation and put the poem in context. Its actually not that bad ;) My fav lines are
1. weaving love from thieving lusts.
2. Split in a second, passions parade,
An existence found, the moment astray.
I COULD explain these, but that would take away the charm. Hope you re-read it and appreciate it!

This poem is one of the most intense pieces I have read in a long time... If I were to explain this, I would certainly see it as explaining the mundane character of the art of Physical love-making.. For me it has clearly explained that at one end, there is excitement, and on the other there is something that has gone lifeless... If we see words like swelling shivers, they show excitement and extasy whereas satin stains show something negative like a stain...then there is Weeping skin...which is talking about crying...and then the same line says tender..then the next line uses the word "die"...and similarly...all through the poem...we are faced with one rising and another falling emotion...and then finally it ends also the same way....where the moment of extasy is explained in "split in seconds" because the extasy is generally for a split second...and immediately we are faced with the parading of passions...which gives a complete antithesis to our mind... a real intellectual and emotional work-out !

For those interested, another view:

‘Burning vine escalating veins’
Think of nature growing, think of blood rising in veins, blood like wine and vine. Things that define existence/life.

‘Weeping skin within tendering ‘spoons’.
Think of skin heavily sweating(so it looks as though its weeping with exhilaration’ when being held close

‘Silvering suns, in mirroring sets’
Glowing faces and twinkling eyes, pair.

‘Sipping flames in teething cuts’
Like the earth boils below the crust, providing life force, so does the body, which can be felt when there is a tear in the skin/crust.

‘weaving love from thieving lusts’.

Even though the act is lustful, the art is love, it creates. The act makes you fall in love…

‘Split in a second, passions parade,
An existence found, the moment astray.’
The act of passion barely sustains beyond its limited time frame. It stands lost with time, but, what it creates (love, life) lives on forever.. An existence found.
